so, i admit that i'm new to blogging.
i admit that i use a computer, but i'm not a computer person.
i admit that i surf for my intended purpose, but i'm not a web surfer.
so, when i was told (by someone who is self-proclaimed "in the know") that you are supposed to blog at least 3 times a week or else "it get's stale", i had to laugh. it's a blog for goodness sakes! there are no rules. blogs are a post-modern invention. it is an on-line journal. i have never journaled "at least 3 times a week" in my life.
so, i was feeling quite inadequte and depressed that i wasn't tech saavy enough.
i got over it because like all good post-moderns...whatever!

good meeting
the national church music conference has been a big boost to my ministry annually for several years. it always does what it's motto claims: education, fellowship, inspiriation and renewal. as you might suspect, these are as necessary for a healthy ministry as air and food to the body.
last year, i accepted the honor to join the executive commitee for this organization. it can be a lot of extra work in my already busy life, but it's a privilege to serve in this capacity.
this week was to be our annual board meeting to begin the work for the following year's conference. as usual, we were scheduled to begin at 10am on wednesday and conclude at 2pm on thursday. however, this year was different.
based on many variables, but most importantly the presence of the Spirit of God, we were able to get accomplished in one day everything that needed to be done. it looks to be an amazing conference in 2008. i hope you are able to join with us. i'm sure you'll find the four points above are evidenced in your life and ministry.
Father in Heaven, thank You for blessing the work of our hands. please continue to bless the ministry of NCMC despite the humanity of it's leaders and through our efforts, bring unity to Your church in areas of opinion, music and worship.
anyone who would like to make a charitable donation to the conference should access the website (www.n-c-m-c.org) and contact bob boswell, the conference host. all donations are tax deductable and the early cash flow helps with operating expenses incurred before registration begins.

back in routine?
i like my routine. i like having a plan and a schedule and a predictability in my life.
it rarely happens, but i prefer to have it.
well, after a week of VBS (vacation bible school), i think we're back in our routine.
but, only for a few weeks--then school starts. that brings a whole new routine.
precious Lord, You're in control of my life. i don't want to need to be in control, but i ask for Your peace as You lead me.
