we are blessed

here's more baby writings. you can skip it if it nauseates you.
of course, everyone's baby is the most beautiful, most talented, most intellegent, etc.
which, of course, leads to baby comparisons and measureing-ups.
however, last night as there were several babies gathered for church directory photos and others who currently had babies in their lives were watching each others' babies and sharing stories and memories and joys, it struck me: every baby is a precious life and a blessing to be cherished.
during the many years of fertility treatments (with no success) that rhonda and i faced, we often found comfort in the truth from scripture that says children are a blessing, not something to be expected. we never are good enough to deserve blessings; God just gives them to us because He loves us. we realized that we were so blessed in so many ways, that we cannot deny that God loves us, even though the pain and emptyness was overwhelming.
so, to everyone who sees a baby, i say, "take note of God's handiwork."
every baby is precious and fearfully and wonderfully made.

praise to the God in heaven for His indescribable gift of babies. help us be diligent in teaching them about You and raising them in the admonition of the Lord.
